Q4OS

Q4OS is a light-weight Linux distribution, based on Debian, targeted as a replacement for operating systems that are no longer supported on outdated hardware. The distribution is known for being similar in appearance to Microsoft Windows operating systems with one of its pre-installed themes inspired by the look and feel of Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Q4OS 4.8 (Gemini) running the Trinity Desktop Environment version R14.0.11

As far as I know, this distribution is being developed by developers from Germany, now in Czech Republic, but it has a multilingual interface support.

The main feature of this distribution is the use of a lightweight graphical environment Trinity Desktop (TDE), which is a fork of KDE 3. A build is also provided for more powerful PCs based on KDE Plasma. Another interesting feature of this distribution is the ability to install from under Windows using an *.exe installer. Also recently there have been builds for Raspberry Pi, Pinbook and ARM-devices.

As for me, I liked this distribution precisely because of the lightweight of the main build with Trinity Desktop (which in turn is one of my favorite graphical environments). At the moment I use this distribution kit on my old laptop.
